Cornelia Funke is one of the most internationally acclaimed authors of children’s and young adult literature. Originally from Germany, she began her career as a book illustrator before writing her own stories, drawing from fairy tales, folklore, and her vivid imagination. Her breakout novel, The Thief Lord, gained international attention, followed by the bestselling Inkheart trilogy, which has been translated into over 40 languages and adapted into a major motion picture.

Her body of work includes fantasy epics, magical realism, and deeply human tales that celebrate bravery, creativity, and the power of stories to connect us. Cornelia continues to write and inspire, championing literacy, creativity, and young voices around the world.
